MARKETING & PUBLICITY INTERNSHIP

Globe Pequot is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2018 semester from students interested in studying with the company’s Marketing & Publicity Department in Guilford, CT.

Globe Pequot is the trade division of Rowman & Littlefield, one of the largest independent publishers and distributors in North America. Founded in 1957 and based in Guilford, Conn., Globe Pequot was long known as the preeminent regional publisher of books about New England. Today, we are both deepening our roots and expanding our horizons: Our flagship imprint remains focused on all things local, expanding from our strong base of authors in New England to cover more of the mid-Atlantic and South. DownEast is the go-to source for books about Maine, while TwoDot covers the American West. FalconGuides is the premier publisher of outdoor recreation guidebooks nationwide, while Lyons Press and Stackpole Books publish national best-sellers in their focus areas of American and military history, sports, hunting, fishing, nature and pets, and entertainment history and kids’ books.

Interns will learn all operations of the marketing department. This includes traditional marketing, digital and social media marketing, and publicity.

Because Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group/Globe Pequot is committed to the growth of tomorrow’s publishing leaders, students selected as interns are expected to gain practical and valuable experience not only in their primary area of study, but with regard to the publishing industry as a whole.

Academic credit from an accredited institution of higher education must be available to all who apply for this unpaid opportunity. Student in all majors will be considered, but English, Public Relations, and Marketing students will be given preference. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; excellence with Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Suite is a plus.

This internship offers a flexible schedule, but candidates must know their schedule (academic and otherwise) for the requisite semester when applying.

If you are interested in applying for this internship, please send a resume and cover letter to Boone Soukthideth via email at humanresources@rowman.com.
