Sundance Newbridge Publishing – a division of Rowman & Littlefield – is a supplemental publisher of ELA print and digital resources for PreK-8 students. Based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, we are seeking a new Inside Sales Representative to drive sales of our standards-aligned literacy programs, designed to provide meaningful, interactive experiences with purposeful and explicit instruction.

Summary of Position:
Sundance Newbridge is looking for an experienced sales professional, to be based in our Marlborough office, located west of Boston. The Inside Sales Consultant is responsible for developing, identifying and securing new sales opportunities from new and existing customers.
Experience selling into schools and districts in the U.S. education market will greatly enhance your ability to make an immediate impact in this role. This position will report to the VP of Sales and is designed to be a true driver of our products within a territory – ensuring that our brand can be best represented within each unique community.

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals and ensure continued sales growth within assigned territory
  • Build and close an active pipeline of new prospects/accounts and repeat business
  • Conduct high level of daily customer outreach – through phone, email and social media – to generate new leads and nurture qualified prospects
  • Actively draft and discuss formal cost proposals with decision makers
  • Hold key discovery calls or presentation meetings with district level staff over the phone to gain new situational awareness and/or larger sales opportunities
  • Represent Sundance Newbridge at key events or trade shows located within assigned territory
  • Actively pitch, sample and discuss our high quality PreK-8 ELA products
  • Successfully manage internal database to report on activities and assumptions and aid in the deployment of national marketing campaigns
  • Become a trusted voice for your customers in the office – provide customer feedback and response to products, new market trends and competitor intelligence to help future marketing and product development plans
  • 3-5 years of significant sales achievement and success selling into the elementary and middle school space OR 3-5 years’ experience as an elementary literacy teacher or district coach
  • Candidates with both sales and teaching experience strongly desired
  • Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Education market, it’s funding sources, buying patterns and customer types to determine decision makers, influencers and other key contacts
  • Comfort with minimal overnight travel throughout the year, inclusive of an annual company sales meeting each July/August
  • Bachelor’s Degree
Desired Skills & Experiences:
  • Excellent verbal, written, and phone-based communication skills
  • A well-disciplined sales mentality – able to plan and execute successfully and frequently, able to be persuasive and persistent and able to overcome objections related to budget or outside factors not related to product features
  • Strong ability to develop rapport over the phone and confidently communicate with a variety of contacts in the K-12 space from the Superintendent level down to the individual teacher
  • Strong organizational and time management skills – the ability to consistently multitask, prioritize urgent work and maintain a high level of activity and follow up
  • Ability to craft and execute strategic plans to achieve or exceed territory quota
  • Strong level of comfort and proficiency with PC computer technology & software – inclusive of experience using business applications (Word, Excel, PPT, Adobe Acrobat), printers, scanners, customer databases and ability to conduct internet-based research
