ROWMAN & LITTLEFIELD EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP - SPRING 2020
Rowman & Littlefield is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2020 semester from students interested in studying with the company’s editorial department, located in New York City.
Because Rowman & Littlefield is committed to the growth of tomorrow’s publishing leaders, students selected as interns are expected to gain practical and valuable experience not only in their primary area of study, but with regard to the publishing industry as a whole.
Students accepted will train and learn all operations of the department, including reviewing proposals, managing the peer review process, drafting review summaries, conducting market research, soliciting and editing endorsements for upcoming books, writing/editing copy for the website or book covers, and researching book cover images.
Student in all majors will be considered, but English, communications, and marketing students will be given preference. Students should also have strong communication and writing skill, interest in book publishing, excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in a busy environment.
Academic credit from an accredited institution of higher education must be available to all who apply for this unpaid opportunity.
This internship offers a flexible schedule, but candidates must know their schedule (academic and otherwise) for the requisite semester when applying.
