GRAPHIC DESIGNER (L-27-18)
Rowman & Littlefield is seeking a graphic designer specializing in digital content creation to conceptualize and executive engaging, attractive, and high-impact designs for its graphic design and marketing department in Lanham, MD. This designer will work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a focus on new technology. The right candidate will balance specialized knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator with a working knowledge of InDesign and After Effects. This designer will also participate in direct mail and advertising campaigns as needed as part of the design team.
Create designs across digital brand assets to include:
Email templates and blasts
Social media assets across various channels
Animated gifs, book trailers, some video editing
Assist in coding landing pages and emails to optimize responsive display and customer experience
Print projects to include catalogs, brochures, postcards, and bookmarks
Archive files and images, template-use and creation of workflow guides
Other duties as assigned
B.A. in graphic design, web design, or similar degree or 2-3+ years’ experience
Experience and familiarity with print production best practices
Fluency in Apple OS, Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), as well as in font management. Knowledge of both PC and MAC platforms a plus.
A strong design portfolio demonstrating one’s creative talent (clean files and acute attention to detail a must)
Strong communication, time, and project management skills
