ASSISTANT EDITOR, ACQUISITIONS (L-15-16)
Rowman & Littlefield is seeking an Assistant Editor. Duties include tracking proposal and manuscript submissions, preparing materials for the editorial board, market research and in-house reports, corresponding with authors, acting as a liaison between authors and other departments as needed, securing peer reviews and endorsements, and preparing manuscripts for transmittal to the production department. This is a challenging position handling 25 books per year in the areas of sociology, anthropology, political science, and psychology. The position is based in our New York City office.

Requirements

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or humanities. As the position involves extensive work with our proprietary content management system, good technical skills are required. Exceptional organizational skills and outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential.
