ASSOCIATE MARKETING MANAGER (L-12-19)
Rowman & Littlefield is seeking an Assistant Marketing Manager to work on its academic library marketing team. The position is based in Lanham, MD.

The Assistant Marketing Manager will be responsible for all marketing duties for the Lexington Books, including all co-publishing partners, and Hamilton Books imprints. Core duties include producing, implementing, and tracking campaigns needed to achieve company sales goals and engaging with customers. Others include updating database with contact information, researching and compiling mailing lists, and assisting with monthly reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Planning, implementing, and tracking all direct marketing (approx. 30 catalogs and brochures per year) for the assigned imprints, including cost estimation and budget management
  • Researching mailing lists
  • Working closely with editorial and Creative Services Team on the creation of promotional materials
  • Working with e-marketing manager for planning and implementation of e-marketing campaigns
  • Attending weekly Lexington Books Editorial Board Meeting and providing feedback on proposals as well as updates on the status of marketing outreach
  • Creating and managing bespoke promotional collateral for authors as needed
  • Coordinating publicity needs with Strategic Engagement Team
  • Drafting annual direct mail budget for Lexington/Hamilton
  • Attending several scholarly and library conferences annually
  • Other duties as assigned in support of the academic library channel
Requirements:
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in the humanities or social sciences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently. Must be a self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize a large volume of projects
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Acrobat
  • Two or more years of marketing experience, preferably at a publishing house
