Rowman & Littlefield is seeking a Marketing Manager to run its Public Library Marketing department. This position will be located in Lanham, Maryland.


  • Develop an overall marketing budget and plan to reach the public library market.
  • Create catalogs and direct mail promotions as needed, including editing the needed copy and working with the creative department on design.
  • Create and implement e-mail campaigns working with our eMarketing team.
  • Answer author emails and calls pertaining to questions or issues regarding company titles within assigned area
  • Attend conferences as assigned, as well as attend seasonal aunch meetings on new titles.
  • Create and implement advertising campaigns with our publicity department.
  • Plan and coordinate semi-annual public library market launch meeting.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3+ years of marketing and business development experience; publishing experience a plus
  • The ability to work independently
  • Experience creating, executing, and tracking national campaigns and product launches
