is looking for a junior level
Marketing Channel Manager
to develop and implement the overall marketing strategy and collaborate with other departments to drive customer engagement and revenue through the higher education channel.
will collaborate with the Executive Channel Manager on the annual marketing plan; will develop, create, and manage print, electronic, and event-based marketing initiatives; will track, report, and analyze budget impact on the market; will plan and execute conference strategies and attend conferences across the U.S. as needed; and will play an essential role supporting company-wide marketing initiatives, such as program and client engagement and brand development. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Channel Manager, and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Lanham, MD. Remote candidates with the ability to travel frequently to the Lanham office will be considered.
Create, design, produce and implement the overall marketing content for the designated titles/markets based on trends, consumer insights and analytics.
Work closely with the Strategic Engagement team to create marketing content and calendar for digital/social media that aligns events, product launches, and key activities with print and ad campaigns to maximize the impact into the higher education marketplace.
Work closely with editors to ensure overall messaging of lists and individual texts is in line with authors’, editors’, and company’s vision.
Represent customers’ perspectives with regard to product development and position, and ensure editorial team understands how to reach the market and differentiate product.
Differentiate R&L products at conferences and events, leveraging them as part of an integrated marketing strategy to drive brand awareness.
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or related field
Experience in print marketing, email marketing, and event marketing preferred
Exemplary communication skills and a high level of detail-orientation
Demonstrated ability to make and influence decisions without oversight
Ability to work independently and within a team
Travel – 20-25% (not including travel to Lanham office for offsite candidates)
