CREDIT ASSISTANT - CREDIT & COLLECTIONS (B-84-18)
Rowman & Littlefield an industry leading independent publisher of professional and educational materials is seeking an entry level Credit Assistant for the Credit & Collections Department. This position is located in Blue Ridge Summit, PA.
Handle inbound phone queries for a variety of account issues. Providing excellent customer service support when responding to account balance, return product and credit card inquires, statement/invoice or refund request, establishing payment plan, taking credit card payments, etc.
Process credit applications for new customers and assign credit lines according to department policies, by contacting trade and bank references, pulling/reviewing credit reports, and checking social media. Receive inbound calls.
Write up refunds, adjustments and W/O for customer accounts.
Complete vendor forms, W-9, payment vouchers, note accounts and scan all documentation.
Rejected Returns – scan all rejected return paperwork. Contact Canadian customer to see if see if they want the rejected merchandise returned or destroyed and follow appropriate procedures accordingly.
Make collection calls on author accounts, contct past due author accounts, set up payment plan according to company standards. Follow-up until past due balance is resolved.
Sort invoices and credit memos for mailroom (pull out all customers who should not be mailed those documents and check for duplications).
Backup on the main switchboard.
Cross-train within department to support team when members are absent or workload dictates.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
1-2 years of customer service / collections experience preferred.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
High level of accuracy.
Ability to navigate multiple computer applications and work from a dual monitor setup.
Must be skilled in the use of Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.
