The Porosity of the Self is an impressive book which tackles the central problem of the self with the help of the complex philosopher, Edmund Husserl. Laura Jane Nanni accomplishes giving an entirely clear account while doing justice to the methodological development of Husserl’s thought, all under the helpful concept of porosity.
— Tanja Staehler, professor of European philosophy, University of Sussex
The Porosity of the Self offers a rich reconstruction of Husserl’s work, demonstrating its significance for contemporary debates about self and personhood. The book is an indispensable resource for readers of Husserl, and will be of interest to anyone working in phenomenology or engaged in debates about identity and selfhood.
— Danielle Petherbridge, associate professor of philosophy, University College Dublin
