Mario J. Azevedo is Professor and Chair of the Department of History and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi. He is the author of several books on Africa on issues of history and public health.
Samuel Decalo was Professor of Political Science at the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa. Prior to teaching at the University of Natal, Durban he taught at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, and at the University of Botswana, Gaborone.
