Herbie J Pilato is an award-winning writer, director, producer, actor, and TV personality. Pilato’s acclaimed and extensive list of pop-culture books, biographies, and memoirs, includes One Tough Dame: The Life and Career of Diana Rigg, The 12 Best Secrets of Christmas: A Treasure House of December Memories Revealed, NBC & ME: My Life as a Page in a Book, Mary: The Mary Tyler Moore Story, Twitch Upon a Star: The Bewitched Life and Career of Elizabeth Montgomery, and Retro Active Television: An In-Depth Perspective on Classic TV’s Social Circuitry (which in 2023 the Los Angeles Book Festival named “Book of the Year”). Pilato has served as an executive producer, director, writer, and/or on-screen cultural commentator for several TV documentaries including CNN’s History of the Sitcom, and various home entertainment productions such as the Saturn-Award-nominated Blu-ray release of The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman.
“…no matter when you’re reading this marvelous collection — whether it’s while those first December snows are falling, or if you’re hanging at the beach on Fourth of July weekend — dangle some mistletoe above this beautiful book. It is worthy of your biggest Christmas kiss!”
— Marlo Thomas
Pilato takes the reader down a very nostalgic memory lane lined with candy canes, wreaths and lights, with sweet songs filling the air. He is very thorough in his discussions, providing all the details of these productions in one handy reference and including some great insights from folks who were involved in some of the special moments. For folks like me that are huge television fans, this book will warm their hearts.
