Laurence J. "Larry" Yadon is an attorney, mediator and arbitrator and speaker on legal subjects and the American West. His seven co-authored books released by Pelican Publishing include 100 Oklahoma Outlaws, Gangsters and Lawmen, 1839-1939, 200 Texas Outlaws and Lawmen, 1835-1935, Ten Deadly Texans, Arizona Gunfighters and Old West Swindlers. His most recent books, Outlaws with Badges and One Murder Too Many: Whitey Bulger and the Computer Tycoon, written with Robert Barr Smith were released last year. He has also written numerous articles and book reviews about the American West.
Larry is general counsel of a Federal power administration which markets federally generated hydropower in a six state area. He provides legal and legislative advice on employment, labor, construction, general contract, real estate, telecommunications and utility matters. He has assisted the Department of Justice in litigation before local United States District Courts, Appellate Courts and one matter argued (successfully) by the Assistant Solicitor General to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Larry is the current editor of the Tulsa Lawyer magazine as well as past Co-Chair and current newsletter editor of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He also serves on the University of Tulsa, College of Law Sustainable Energy & Resources Law Board of Visitors.
A graduate of the University of Tulsa and University of Oklahoma College of Law, Larry has served as a Fact Finder for the Department of Justice. He has been an Adjunct Settlement Judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma since 1994.
