The Eight Parts of Speech – Quick Reference Guide
Answer Key
Learning and understanding the eight parts of speech is not only essential to comprehending and developing reading, writing and speaking skills but is also a critical foundational skill for English composition at all levels of education. Dr. Kristine Setting Clark has developed a simple and easy curriculum for students to learn grammar and composition. I highly recommend Simply English: The Eight Parts of Speech as a tool to educational leaders of the English language.
— T. Compagno, ESL middle school instructor, California
Simply English: The Eight Parts of Speech is a program to help students become familiar with the basic units of grammar. Each part of speech is defined with tips and examples for identification. Practice exercises are then provided for identifying each part of speech. Also included is a Quick Reference (at the end of the textbook) to familiarize students with the parts of speech. It includes definitions, key words and examples. This reference can be used as a study guide and when preparing for exams. I teach English and ESL at the high school level. This curriculum has been a beneficial tool to teaching English speakers and ESL students in understanding this complex language.
— J. Gordon, ESL/Special Education instructor, San Francisco, California
Comprehending grammar is essential for students to speak and write with competence and clarity. Simply English: The Eight Parts of Speech gives your students simple explanations of grammar and composition, along with easy to understand exercises that help keep them motivated. The students love the Quick Reference section at the end of the book. It allows them to quickly review the parts of speech without having to go through the entire book. Also featured is a Teacher’s Edition complete with answer key.
This book can also be used with Special Education students who are categorized as RSP. The program can be modified to meet each student’s needs. I highly recommend this book to teachers of the English language.
