About the Authors
Preparing for a Student Teacher, Book 1 of Student Teaching: The Cooperating Teacher Series, is a concise, user-friendly guide for cooperating teachers. With limited time available to me, I found this to have a teacher-friendly layout — it reads like a map! I love the layout! The authors took all of the highlights out of Supervising Student Teachers the Professional Way, 7 ed. and compiled them into an easy-to-read desktop guide for all cooperating teachers.
— Carol Johnson, cooperating teacher, National Board Certified teacher, fifth grade teacher
The tools and insights shared in this book make it a must-read book for both novice and experienced cooperating teachers. Preparing for a student teacher is crucial for a successful experience for both the student teacher and the cooperating teacher. Henry and Weber view preparing for the experience through the lens of the cooperating teacher and provide essential components to consider in that preparation.
— Linda Houser, PhD, assistant dean, former director of student teaching, IU School of Education- IUPUI, Association of Teacher Educators (ATE) president
This book will surely prove to be indispensable for both first time and experienced cooperating teachers and their supervisors. The format provides easy to follow information, practical suggestions and helpful reminders that are convenient for quick reference and critical to a successful experience with a student teacher.
— Pamela Lester, supervisor of interns, Kean University
