Appendix
The Hamilton City School District enlisted the help of Glenn Meeks to develop a vision for 21st Century Learning and Teaching. An advocate for student centered learning; Mr. Meeks took a district team through a comprehensive planning process that resulted in the creation of a 'Five Year Roadmap for Effective and Sustainable Learning and Teaching.' That plan has been instrumental in informing our leadership recruitment, professional development, district policies, technology vision, purchases and the integration of technology into teaching and learning. I would highly recommend this process to other districts that understand that technology integration is a must for the future of education.
— Janet Baker, superintendent, Hamilton City School District
As rigor and expectations for student achievement continue to increase, the quality of student work and our ability to accelerate the mastery of the curriculum are at the heart of the issue. The process of creating a student-centered learning environment forced our district to address the right questions as we strive for continued improvement.
