Vincent Terrace is a television historian for BPOLIN Productions, a film/TV production company. He has written more than thirty books, including Encyclopedia of Television Shows, 1925 through 2010, 2nd ed. (2011) and Television Introductions: Narrated TV Program Openings since 1949 (Scarecrow, 2013). Terrace is also the author of Television Series of the 1950s: Essential Facts and Quirky Details (2016), Television Series of the 1960s: Essential Facts and Quirky Details (2016), and Television Series of the 1970s: Essential Facts and Quirky Details (2017), all published by Rowman & Littlefield.

This book covers 56 programs that premiered between January 1980 and December 1989. For each program there is a cast list, a brief summation of what the show is about, and a list of facts about each major character: birthplace, parents, occupation, education, marital status, spouse, children, hobbies, pets, and so forth (the precise details given depend upon the character).
