About the Author
This third edition by Kapcia substantially updates and improves the 2001 edition with new and expanded entries synthesizing historical events in context rather than exhaustively listing individuals, facts, and events that can easily be found in other, more accessible digital sources. The bibliography, which includes useful prefatory remarks on the nature of Cuban studies scholarship, does not seek to be comprehensive and is more thoughtfully curated than the previous edition…. [T]he fully revised content in this volume makes it worth replacing the previous edition… Recommended. General readers through faculty.
