Nelson Sigelman worked for 27 years at The Martha’s Vineyard Times, an award winning weekly newspaper, where he was a reporter, news editor, and from 2014 to October 2016, editor. He has won numerous writing awards from the New England Press Association, The New England Outdoor Writers Association (NEOWA), and the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA). In April 2017, he received first and second place awards in the annual NEOWA competition for a story about the harmful effects of impoundments along the Mill Brook and a column about fulfilling his longtime goal of taking a deer with a flintlock rifle. In 1996, he won the Derby Shore Fly Rod striped bass division, and he holds the Derby Fly Rod bonito record. In 2012, he was inducted into the Martha’s Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby Hall of Fame. He lives on Martha’s Vineyard.
At last a “how to” Vineyard fishing book that will entertain and instruct novice and veteran anglers alike. Nelson Sigelman does it all in Martha’s Vineyard Fish Tales with his signature humor and voice of experience, covering everything from gamefish to shellfish, from basics to secrets of the pros, even including anecdotes on family and how to stay married (or not) during the Derby. A keeper indeed!
