Joshi and Schweitzerare among the leading scholars of Lord Dunsany’s work.
Known primarily for his literary contributions in the area of fantasy literature in the early 1900s, there has been a renewed interest in Lord Dunsany’s work in recent years, which is reflected in recent volumes published on this influential author, including Critical Essays on Lord Dunsany (Scarecrow Press, 2013) and Lord Dunsany, H.P. Lovecraft, and Ray Bradbury: Spectral Journeys (Scarecrow Press, 2013). This volume is a revision a 1993 bibliography that provided a much-needed compilation of all of Lord Dunsany’s works. This volume has been updated to reflect dozens of new editions of Dunsany’s work and new titles that have been identified in the past 20 years. The new material includes short stories, newspaper articles, poems, books, essays, and critical reviews of Dunsany’s published works. The volume is arranged into three sections: Works by Dunsany in English; Works by Dunsany in Translation; and Dunsany Criticism. The work has been indexed by name, title, and periodical titles to make navigating the work easier for the user. This will be a useful volume for the literature collections of college and university libraries.
