Pascal Bentoiu is a highly respected composer, an erudite scholar, and an acknowledged authority on the creative output of George Enescu. He authored the George Enescu article in the German encyclopedia Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart.
Lory Wallfisch, retired, was the "Iva Dee Hiatt" chair professor of music at Smith College. Wallfisch is a founding member and President of the George Enescu Society of the United States.
A review can give only an approximate indication of the value of a book of such scope and detail. You don’t need to be familiar with Enescu’s music to enjoy it: I found it equally rewarding on works I know well and others that I have yet to get to grips with. Masterworks of George Enescu thrilled and delighted and informed me in equal measure, as few books have.
