The solid entries on ancient Israel, varied appropriately in detail from 'Aaran' to 'Zipporah' and 'Zobah', 'administration', 'fortifications' or 'Ugarit', are accompanied by a long bibliography in eight sections including 33 subsections. The preface provides a succinct historical framework.
— Antiquity
In sum, this work is a radical attempt by the author to balance and correct biblical historiography by providing descriptions of who's who and what's what in the Hebrew Bible.
