Michael F. DiPaola is associate professor of the Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership Program of the School of Education at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia. His career in public education spanned three decades, including a decade of classroom teaching. He also served as an assistant principal in a 7-12 building and as principal of a grade 10-12 senior high school. Prior to joining the faculty at the college, DiPaola was the Superintendent of the Public Schools in Pitman, New Jersey for six years.
James H. Stronge is Heritage Professor in the Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership Program at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia. He has been a teacher, counselor, and district-level administrator. Among his primary research interests are a) teacher effective and student success, and b) teacher and administrator performance evaluation. He has worked with numerous school districts, state, and national educational organizations to design and develop evaluation systems for teachers, administrators, superintendents, and support personnel. Currently he is working with the American Association of School Administrators to develop training regarding superintendent evaluation. Stronge is also the author or co-author of numerous articles, books, and technical reports on teacher, administrator, and support personnel evaluation.
