Harvey K. Meyer, Ed.D., retired from the University system of Florida having served in various capacities such as Professor, the University of Florida, and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Florida Atlantic University. He was also the founding Director of the Instituto Nacional Tecnico Vocacional in Managua, Nicaragua. Author of two earlier historical dictionaries, those on Honduras and Nicaragua, for this major update and revision he collaborated with his wife.
Jessie Hamm Meyer, M.A., teacher of History and English in several Kentucky and Florida high schools. Mrs. Meyer also taught in the American School in Managua, Nicaragua, and is the author of the Florida Federation of Women's Clubs centennial history, Leading the Way-A century of Service-1895-1995. She has served the statewide FFWC as both Historian and Archivist.
