With the spread of written information, non-Chinese-speaking Westerners have increasing need to identify Chinese characters, but they encounter great difficulty when attempting to look them up in a dictionary, because modern Chinese dictionaries and reference materials are all based on the official pinyin, an alphabetic romanization of the Chinese language. This book provides an easy method_by modified stroke count_by which the most frequently used Chinese characters can be identified and transcribed into pinyin.
