An excellent example of anthropological principles applied within a state-systems context. Aigbe is especially adept at analyzing religious institutions and tracing their impacts upon elements of African society. The case study material is rich.
— Peter W. VanArsdale, Graduate School of International Studies, University of Denver
The work as a whole is a brilliant and dedicated attempt to formulate a new direction for the evangelistic work of the AGN and other evangelical churches of Nigeria. The author is to be highly commended for his insightful and painstaking research.
