Caramine White, Ph.D., is an English professor and writer in Virginia's Tidewater area. In addition to being the author of Reading Roddy Doyle, (Syracuse UP, 2001), she has published extensively and on a wide variety of topics in newspapers and magazines. An avid long distance runner, she has completed ten marathons, one half Ironman, and numerous half-marathons. She is extremely active in the Catholic Church and is a passionate advocate for animal rights.
