Eric Touya de Marenne is originally from the south of France. He received his Diplôme d'Etude Approfondie from the University of Paris, Sorbonne, and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He is currently assistant professor of French in the Department of Languages and Literatures at St. John's University in New York.
