Said Faiq is Professor of Translation & Intercultural Studies at the American University of Sharjah, where he is Chair of the Department of Language and Literature and Director of the graduate program in Translation and Interpreting. Prior to his current position, he worked at Salford and Leeds Universities (UK). He has published widely on Arabic translation and intercultural studies, e.g. Cultural Encounters in Translation from Arabic (2004) and Translation, Representation, and Identity in Intercultural Communication (2006).
