The Worlds of Women Series
The insights offered by women's studies scholarship are invaluable for exploring society, and issues of gender have therefore become a central concern in the social sciences and humanities. The Worlds of Women series addresses in detail the unique experiences of women from the vantage points of such diverse fields as history, political science, literature, law, religion, and gender theory, among others. Historical and contemporary perspectives are given, often with a cross-cultural emphasis. While the first seven volumes in this series are "readers," or edited collections of primary and secondary documents, the series will be revamped to include primarily brief, focused, single-authored works on important topics in women and gender studies. « less more »
