Rural Economies in Transition
Much of the world's rural population lives in transition countries that are attempting to transform their economies from the centrally planned socialist system to a market-oriented system. The Rural Economies in Transition series evaluates the deep impact these transformations are having in Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, and Asia. Based on original empirical work by international teams at the cutting edge of research, each volume presents the results of one complete empirical study devoted to a single country or region. The editors have designed the series to provide agricultural, development, and political economists, as well as scholars in other disciplines, with authoritative and up-to-date factual information about rural transition. The editors welcome manuscript submissions from scholars engaged in original empirical research in the field.
