African American Cultural Theory and Heritage
The Scarecrow Press African American Cultural Theory and Heritage Series provides a contemporary view, definition, and record of expression of new, fresh ideas and scholarship related to the ever complex and changing identity and production of Black thought, American and popular culture, and art in the larger academic culture. The series explores how culture is lived, how ideas are cultivated and developed, and how noteworthy stories are told through biographies that reach out and connect to us. These books are wrapped within and around the themes and consequences of common culture such as identity construction and socio-cultural forces of race, gender, religion, power, technology, popular culture, global diasporic relations, and the development of the humanities (arts, education, poetry, music, and literature).
